Founded by Samantha Karlin in 2009, New York Dating Consultants was formed to battle a catastrophic divorce rate and a staggeringly high number of singles in the US. The more internal that people get, the less they are meeting people externally- and this makes their love lives suffer. She also conclusively found that happy people make attractive people, and engaged on a quest to help increase people's overall well-being- thereby making them more desirable and better long term partners.

Samantha Karlin is a long established dating coach and image consultant, having worked with numerous clients on increasing self-esteem and gaining perspective on their love lives. Most recently, Samantha starred in the webseries, "Love Coach," chronicling a client's journey through coaching and acted as the director of strategic development at IvyDate. Prior, Samantha was the corporate content manager at Meezoog.com, penning the popular "Dating Diva" blog. Ms. Karlin is a nationally syndicated dating columnist, having been published in Forbes, Fox Business, and Yahoo News, among others. Samantha has studied at Yale University, Tufts University and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, specializing in gender issues and humanitarian conflict. She also speaks across the country, having last appeared at Brown University speaking about the evolution of LGBT online dating at the annual IvyQ conference.
